Old Trafford occupies a strategic location within Greater Manchester, falling within the Manchester City Region.

Shrewsbury Street

Old Trafford is located to the south-west of Manchester City Centre. The area of Old Trafford is home to the famous Old Trafford Football Club,  Lancashire County Cricket Ground and lies adjacent to strategic locations such as Exchange Quay financial quarter, Trafford Park and MediaCity:UK. The area is well connected in a national and international context. Manchester Airport is around 20 minutes away, and the area is well connected to the conurbation core by metrolink and bus routes and the A56 Corridor.

Limelight - Shrewsbury Street

A partnership between Trafford Housing Trust (THT) and the local community, and with the support from both Trafford Council and the Homes and Communities Agency, Limelight is a £20 million development located on Shrewsbury Street, which will bring together much-needed facilities which includes; a GP surgery, pharmacy and opticians, a modern library, hairdressers and children’s nursery, alongside high quality Extra Care accommodation and essential community services.

Stretford Road

THT completed the Rivers apartment scheme, comprising a mix of 36 social rented and shared ownership properties in 2015.

The THT Lucy Street development off City Road providing a further 34 affordable rent and shared ownership homes as part of a new housing model of flats above houses was completed in December 2016.

Phase 2 of the Lucy Street development, due for completion in Spring 2018, will deliver a further 42 apartments and houses available for affordable rent or to buy through Shared Ownership.

Tamworth

Following the successful demolition of four tower blocks on the Tamworth Estate, THT completed the Tamworth Phase 1 scheme in January 2017 delivering 26 homes consisting of 18 apartments and 8 three-bedroom houses available for a mixture of shared ownership and affordable rent. 

The next phase of development at Tamworth forms the largest redevelopment opportunity in the Old Trafford Masterplan area and will delivery around 200 new homes across the remainder of the site.
