The Trafford Pledge

Would you like to make a difference by helping local people into work?

Trafford Pledge - No Background

The Trafford Pledge matches with local businesses with residents, benefitting both the local community and the wider economy.

The Pledge was launched in April 2013 as the Partington Pledge; an initiative to support young people aged 16 to 24 into employment. Due to the success of the project, the borough-wide Trafford Pledge was launched in July 2014 and now supports residents of all ages to find employment.

Through the Trafford Pledge, businesses who sign up commit to supporting the residents of Trafford into employment by offering any one or more of the following:-

  • Offering a job
  • Recruiting an apprentice
  • Offering work experience
  • Mentoring a young person

The Trafford Pledge matches local residents with local opportunities in particular those residents who are disadvantaged in the labour market. Priority groups include:-

  • Care leavers (looked after young people leaving the care system)
  • Ex-armed forces
  • People with a health condition or disability
  • People on a supported employment programme (Working Well, Talentmatch, Motiv8)
  • Young people who are NEET (Not Engaged in Education, Employment or Training)
  • People with complex needs
  • Ex-offenders
  • Homeless people
  • Older people
